Why Live in Utah?

Why Live In Utah

We all know why we prefer to live in Utah. Perhaps you grew up in the Beehive State? Or maybe you work in the state capital? Whatever the reason, we should consider ourselves lucky because there are countless great reasons to call Utah home. Let’s take a look at just a few of them.

Outdoor Life

If you’d love to have an active lifestyle, Utah is the place to be. And it doesn’t matter what time of year it is, there’s an outdoor activity to suit.

Utah is home to some of the world’s best ski resorts, and many of these are just a short drive from Salt Lake City. Plus, because there are plenty of resorts, you’ll always have plenty of choice if you get fed up skiing the same slopes after a while.

When it’s not ski season, the mountains open up to hikers and bikers, with hundreds of miles of trails to explore. There are also plenty of opportunities to get on the water. Whether it’s for fishing, kayaking, canoeing, tubing or paddle boarding, there are rivers and lakes (including the famous Colorado River and Utah Lake) that are just waiting to be explored.

National Parks

Utah is lucky enough to have five National Parks, including Bryce Canyon, Zion, Capitol Reef, Canyonlands and Arches. These National Parks are treasure troves of wildlife and stunning scenery that people travel from all over the world to see. As well as national parks, there are several National Forests and just across the border into Arizona you’ll be in the Grand Canyon.

Seasons

For the most part, Utah experiences all four seasons, making the Beehive State an ideally located place to live. Particularly in the areas around Salt Lake City, you can experience spring, summer, fall and winter, so you can get a well-rounded weather experience that you may not be able to get in some other states.

Education and Employment

Utah is home to some of the most educated cities in the United States and also has some of the best public schools in the country. There are also several universities in Utah.

There is also a healthy employment rate in Utah, with a growing technology business sector in the area dubbed Silicon Slopes. With large global corporations, such as Microsoft and Adobe, as well as smaller startups, it’s seeing great expansion and investment.

Safety and Community

Utah is considered one of the safest states in the country, with a low crime rate and a focus on community. Particularly in areas where Utah homebuilders are investing and building communities, there is a high sense of community to develop safe and friendly neighborhoods.

Utah has a booming property market to account for the population growth over the last few years, as people from all across the country move to Utah to take advantage of the high quality of living. Compared to other major cities, such as on the east or west coast, you may get more for your money when it comes to buying a house. This means you could have more disposable income to enjoy the activities on your doorstep and be able to afford those expensive home decorations you’ve always wanted.
